I was really pleased to be given a Distinction for my part in the task.
It was a real team effort with each of us taking the lead on different items in the display. I did the tree, bunting and parallel seaside themed arrangement. The beach hut prop is from my bedroom :-)
The thing I most enjoyed doing was the parallel arrangement. It is my own design and is made using lots of items I found on Southend seafront. I added narcissi bought at the supermarket and some blue eryngium I had leftover from Christmas. I made the paper windmills myself from an online tutorial.
Front view - sea grasses, oyster and mussel shells, driftwood and seagull feathers give the arrangement a natural beachcomber look. |
Back view - thrift, succulents and dried grass seed heads from the garden |
